  • During a client meeting a few years ago, the client asked, ‘Dave, what keeps you up at night?‘. I wryly responded, nothing! After observing the intended reaction I stated, ‘No… it’s what ‘wakes me up at night’; that is the question.

What is it then, that currently ‘wakes me up at night’? The over-valued markets of today.

Last week I was in Denver, CO participating in the annual ski industry trade show where over 20,000 attend. That brings me to this newsletter after a few days in the high Colorado mountain air (10,000 elevation) reflecting on market opportunities, market risks and your lifetime financial goals.

My primary goal as your advisor is to protect your capital and to see the return of your capital; my secondary goal is the return on your capital.

Below I have highlighted viewpoints from several well respected investment industry professionals. This information should be taken into consideration as we continue to monitor your investments and your allocations which reflect your goals, along with the opportunities and risks present in the markets.

As you read the content do not worry and do not panic. I have been monitoring (and anticipating) these market trends for some time. Your asset allocation strategies are reflective of my ‘knowledge base’ regarding these global market trends.

As always, I welcome your input as we continue to review your investments, your allocations and your goals. My summary and conclusions of this work are found at the bottom of the article.

If we were having this discussion three years from today, and you were looking back over those three years, what has to have happened in your life, both personally and professionally, for you to feel happy with your progress?

Here’s what others are saying about today’s global markets……
