    Self-employed individuals and owner-only businesses and partnerships. Owner’s spouses may also participate. You may still qualify if you have employees who work less than 1,000 hour per year, or utilize independent contractors or hire employees age 21 or less.

    $25 Set up fee, includes annual plan administration and compliance fee, investment fees additional.

    IRS maximum contribution:
    $17,500 for 2013

    Catch-up contribution:
    Additional $5,550 for 2013 if age 50 or older

    Profit sharing contribution:
    Up to 25% of compensation.

    Total contribution and profit sharing annual maximum is $51,000. $102,000 if spouse contributes. $113,000 if both are over age 50.

    Key Dates:
    Plan Establishment Deadline:
    December 31, or fiscal year-end
    Salary Deferral Contributions: April 15 of next year if unincorporated. If incorporated, 15 days after the fiscal year.
    Profit Sharing Contributions: April 15 of next year, plus extensions if unincorporated. If incorporated, March 15 of next year, plus extensions.

    Roll your IRAs, IRA rollovers, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, old 401ks, and any other qualified retirement accounts into your Solo 401(k) for ease of management, administration, reduce/eliminate redundant annual IRA fees, and more likely than not, lower your annual investment expenses with our institutional share class pricing.

    Administrative Responsibilities:
    Annual IRS Form 5500 filing after plan assets exceed $250,000

    Minimum required distributions (RMDs) starting at age 70 1/2
    10% early withdrawal penalty if under age 59 1/2.
    Loans are permitted on up to 1/2 of the plan balance, $50,000 maximum.
